The Chateau Cabinets #1 Objective is to capture and create your vision for the look and functionality of your new cabinets. If you have already clipped out magazine photos that help illustrate your vision, please share them with Marty. He will work with you to refine the concepts based on an iterative design consultation process. If you don’t already have a specific design in mind, Marty would love to help you work out the details so you can get the project started. The sooner you call, the sooner you’ll turn your ideas for new cabinets into reality.
Custom cabinets allow you the opportunity to achieve your desired design based on your unique tastes regarding aesthetics, quality, features, price, counter heights, sizing, etc. Finding the right mix of these variables can seem challenging, but Marty will help you sort it all out. Prefabricated designs frequently limit your ability to achieve the vision you are looking for and are rarely less expensive once the features are compared “apples to apples” (i.e. including quality installation, crown molding, baseboard, etc.). Custom cabinetry is a long term investment that adds tremendous satisfaction and enjoyment to your home...not to mention adding additional monetary value. |

Design & Consultation
Our custom designs begin with meeting Marty Behrens to formulate ideas and solutions for your project. Chateau Cabinets can build any style to match the new or existing space whether it is Modern, Victorian, Arts & Crafts, Federal, French Country or Art Deco.
The initial consultation usually starts with a visit to your home and/or a review of the house plans to gain a better sense for the “canvas”. Using your vision (or that of your designer/architect) combined with our artistic style, we can usually draw sketches to illustrate our design ideas. This refines our ideas while confirming that we’re thinking the same thing. While we’re discussing creative designs, we’ll also take measurements that will help us formalize the design later using CAD software. We use the formal CAD designs to provide an accurate cost estimate and to give you an opportunity to see and signoff on what will actually be built.
Once the design and cost estimate are approved, we will sign an agreement that outlines key details regarding your cabinets and a timeline for completion. It is our desire to articulate in writing what has been discussed to avoid misunderstandings later. Once the agreement is signed and a deposit received, we will move into production mode. Because our #1 objective is to fulfill your vision, we work hard to be flexible if changes need to be made before, during and after production. Obviously, it is most cost effective to make design changes before the cabinets are built, but we’ll accommodate your requests based on a formal change order process. |

Wood, Finishes & Hardware
We offer our clients a choice of domestic and exotic hardwoods as well as a selection of veneers. Many cabinet door styles and options are available to further customize your fine cabinetry. Chateau Cabinets generally uses “face frames” because this design provides: strength to the cabinet system, a stronger mounting location for the hinges (versus in the cabinet box), and a beautiful frame to highlight the doors and drawers. If a more streamline style is desired, we use an approach that provides that design while also providing many of the advantages of a face frame. We can also provide the pulls and knobs to complete the look of your cabinetry or you can source these from local or Internet suppliers. Either way, we’ll install them as part of the installation package.
Chateau Cabinets is pleased to be able to offer custom pre-finished cabinetry. Most cabinet shops in the Mid-Willamette Valley do not offer pre-finishing options let alone custom finishes. Our professional finishers can color match to existing wood or any other object that you would like to use for inspiration. We have the ability and willingness to do glazing, distressing, antiquing (glazing on paint), multi-coats and other specialty finishes upon request. |
